Lindsay says: “Hi everyone. I just want to say thanks a million to everyone for being so patient, I know we’ve been away quite a while. We’ve been writing loads and loads of songs and we’re coming back very, very soon with a brilliant new album so keep your ears and eyes peeled!”

What’s going on with the new material? Edele: The new stuff is definitely taking longer than we wanted. We were hoping that the single would be out this summer but you have to take this long, especially when you’re looking for a new direction; you have to do a certain amount before you find the road that you’re going to take your album down.

You might not have seen much of B*Witched lately, but that doesn't mean they've not been busy. There's been some gigs, a trip to Brunei, a top fashion glamour event and some recording for their third album. Here's Edele with the low-down...

Everyones saying you've got more grown-up. Do you feel like that? Keavy: You just naturally grow up like everybody else. We got together three years ago and we've learned a lot: we've been all around the world.

What scares the hell out of you? Edele: Me and Keavy hate being on our own in the dark. I know it sounds really silly. I don't mind so much at home, but in hotels, I have to have a night light you plug into the wall.

Do you feel like stars now? Sinead: Sometimes, but we don't think we're really famous yet! You forget people might know you, so it can be really weird to see people staring at you in restaurants and places. But we're having a ball, we really are.

B*Witched: The First Interview (April 98) Why B*Witched? Edele: The name was actually picked by our producer. When we first met him he thought we were very bewitching because we took him into our own little world that we make up. He kept saying, 'You're very bewitching,' and it just stuck. We thought B*Witched would be a great name.
