What scares the hell out of you?

Edele: Me and Keavy hate being on our own in the dark. I know it sounds really silly. I don't mind so much at home, but in hotels, I have to have a night light you plug into the wall.

Have you ever seen a ghost?

Keavy: I've heard a ghost before - in the dance centre where we use to train. The building use to be a hotel and a little girl died in the lift shaft. Edele use to work there as well and one night she heard her when she was locking up. She went to check if anyone was around but when there wasn't she just locked the door and ran home!

Edele: Another spooky thing happened when my nana died. We all got little things from her house to remember her by and my sister Naomi took this little marble clock. When we left the house, the clock stopped at the exact time we drove away. It never started again!

What's the scariest movie you've ever seen?

Edele: Probably the Halloween films or the Freddy Krueger movies. One or two of those Nightmare On Elm Street films are pretty scary...

Keavy: Child's Play! I must have been about 12 and I was watching it with my friend in her living room which was joined to the kitchen. At the same time as a real scary bit, the sink just went 'Bloooop! I was so scared, I screamed. My friend laughed her head off!

Sinead: Mine's probably Stephen King's It. And Se7en was pretty frightening too. I watch horror movies, but I don't go out of my way to see them.

Lindsay:  I have to say Scream. I liked the way that one minute you were laughing and the next you were on the edge of your seat.

What did you use to do for Halloween?

Sinead: I used to take my brother and my two sisters around the houses and we'd trick or treat. Then we'd go back home and play games: picking up grapes out of flour without getting it around your mouth, trying to get the money out of the hanging apple or from the bottom of a basin of water.

Edele: I don't know if the kids enjoy Halloween now as much as we used to, 'cause it can be dangerous. All the older kids steal the goodie bags off the younger ones, go drinking around the bonfire and acting the eegit.

We used to go to the bonfires and build one for all the kids in our road. Da used to spend weeks going round to all the houses collecting firewood and the bonfires would be huge. But we also went trick or treating. Did you ever do that and people just gave you apples? That's so sad. As kids you think, 'Thank you very much!' As we got older, we use to love answering the doors to kids and we made sure we always gave them crisps and sweets!
